I do not think there is a direction you could rub a knife on an eggshell that would sharpen it, at least not before the eggshell breaks. maaaaybe you could hone it (realign the blades), but you are never going to shave away metal with an eggshell. Read more

the tensile strength thing was more of a hyperbolic joke (I’m not equipped to measure the tensile strength of anything) but i do think the fragility of the egg has something do with why you can’t use it to sharpen a blade. Read more

That’s what I’ve read from several plumber types but you are free to do what you want with your own garbage disposal. I’m sure some models can handle it but I’m not everyone has those models, so it would be irresponsible to tell the general population that this is an ok thing to do. Read more
